The step-cut faceting technique of an emerald cut diamond gives it what the industry calls a “hall of mirrors” effect. The faceting arrangement causes light to bounce off one another creating elegant sparkle. One thing to bear in mind when looking at Emerald cut Diamond engagement rings is that the way emerald cuts are faceted makes them a little unforgiving when it comes to clarity. In other words you can spot inclusions a little easier than with other cuts. This means you may want to for a VS1 or VS2 clarity rather than an SI1 or SI2.
