rubover milgrain emerald cut with trapeze & round split shoulders

Rubover milgrain emerald cut with trapeze & round split shoulders. This engagement ring incorporates a variety of styles and details, creating a unique ensemble that will stand out from the rest. The aesthetic of this ring is derived from trends popular in the Art Deco jewellery period from the 1920s-30s.

Art Deco jewellery designs were heavily influenced by geometric shapes and sharp angles. Both emerald cut diamonds and trapeze shapes were popular during this time. Many enjoy the long and stairlike facets of emerald cut diamonds.

The tiny beads of metal that detail around each of the diamonds is called milgrain. Milgrain detailing has been used throughout jewellery history, but has always given vintage engagement ring vibes. In this ring, it adds a unique look to a more common rubover setting.

Rubover settings are ideal for those with active lifestyles or who prefer a low-profile engagement ring without claws. There’s no need to worry about snagging if they get worn. The metal rim of a rubover setting makes the top of your ring protected and smooth, with the exception of the slight texture from the milgrain.

This engagement ring and any of our jewellery designs can be replicated or modified in any way you like. RING Jewellers offers our customers a wide range of options when creating bespoke jewellery.

You may choose from lab grown diamonds, natural diamonds, coloured stones, or coloured diamonds. All of our diamonds 0.20 and above are certified by a reliable grading laboratory.

You may like the diamond shapes above or you may opt for different shapes. Select the quality range, colour grades, clarity grades, and carat weight of all the stones within your piece.

The precious metal in the split shank ring setting above is cast in platinum, but we also have palladium and gold available too. Our gold is 9ct or 19ct white, yellow, and rose gold.

If you’d like to create this ring or have something else in mind, we’d love to hear from you today.
