Tourmaline ring with baguette cut shoulders

Fancy step cut Tourmaline ring with vertical baguette cut Diamonds shoulders. The straight baguettes closest to the centre stone are vertically ‘end set’ (AKA bar set). The outer Diamonds are tapered baguette cuts which are also end set.

This ring is made from Platinum. It is set with an unusual cut of Tourmaline. The outline makes the stone appear, at first glance, to be an Emerald cut. Under close inspection though you can see there are horizontal stepped facets running across the gemstone. This is similar to a limited edition Diamond cut called ‘The millennium cut’ that some high street jewellers created to celebrate the year 2000. This faceting seems to work better on a coloured stone like this Tourmaline though.
