What’s the difference between a sapphire & a ruby?

If you answered a sapphire is blue then you are wrong! This is a bit of a trick question. They are both actually the same rock – corundum. In fact sapphires can be green, pink, yellow, orange, white etc. Somtimes you can even find 2 colours in the same sapphire:
