This halo cluster engagement ring features a radiant cut diamond with a halo of diamonds that is broken up into sections. Each section is lined with milgrain vintage detailing alongside a milgrain diamond band. 

Radiant cut engagement rings have a similar shape to emerald cut engagement rings. Both shapes have cropped corners and they are both elongated. Emerald cuts are more narrow and elongated than radiant cuts, but radiant cuts have more width. They also reflect light differently as step cut and brilliant cut shapes.

Radiant cut diamonds gained popularity in the 1970s. It was developed by Henry Brossgard of Belgium. He sought out to cut a diamond that had the elegance of an emerald cut with the brilliant cut technique of a round brilliant diamond. 

Though radiant cut diamonds weren’t around during the Art Deco period of the 1920s and 1930s, the square shape and milgrain details of this ring were very popular during this time. Typically emerald cuts, Asscher cuts, and princess cuts were favoured, but we think they would have loved the radiant cut too.
