TITANIUM
|
Named after the Titans of Greek mythology, titanium has the highest weight to strength ratio of any metal. This means that titanium is extremely light weight, but incredibly strong, making it perfect for jewellery. The precious metals can vary in strength but titanium is far stronger than any of these including platinum. Despite its incredible strength titanium is the most affordable metal we make wedding bands from. The price of a very wide gents band is just £150 & the equivalent ring in platinum would cost thousands of pounds - literally!

Titanium can also be inlaid with precious metals like silver, gold & platinum. This is often a good way of matching a band to a partner's design. For example, if a ladies wedding band is platinum then her partner may have a platinum detail on his or her titanium band. This links them without them being exactly the same. Another unique property of titanium is its ability to change colour via the process of 'anodising'. Different anodising voltages can be used to create a range of colours. Our workshops can anodise titanium to the following colours: blue, green, gold, bronze & purple. We can also enamel our titanium to create flush, black stripes & patterned inlays.
