black & white diamond halo ring

Black & white diamond halo ring.

This halo engagement ring features a fancy black diamond centre secured by 4 claws with a ring of colourless diamonds surrounding it, set atop a medium-width (platinum) band.

Black diamonds have an air of mystery to them, as their exact origin is not confirmed. The most common belief is that black diamonds, also referred to as carbonados, were formed as the result of meteorite impacts hitting the earth.

In some cultures, black diamonds were believed to repel evil spirits and negative energies. They have been regarded as protective talismans to shield the wearer from evil.

Those looking for a bold and alternative engagement ring should consider black diamonds. In the Art Deco period of the 1920s, black diamonds were used in mourning jewellery along with jet and black onyx.

More intricate designs with black diamond jewellery became popular in the Edwardian period. In the Art Nouveau jewellery era, black diamonds were less thought of as mourning jewellery and more towards edgy and gothic styles.

Many enjoyed the contrast of black and white diamond rings. The reflection of white light and rainbow light plays well against the deep smoky colour of a well-cut black diamond.

This black diamond engagement ring can be modified to suit your personal preference. Switch out the black diamond for another coloured diamond, or a well-cut colourless diamond. Both our colourless and coloured diamonds are available as lab grown or natural mined diamonds.

All diamonds weighing 0.20cts and above are certified by a reliable gemological laboratory. Our natural diamonds are GIA certified, while our lab created diamonds are IGI certified. All of our stones come from responsible origins.

We also provide a range of metal options. The above halo engagement ring is cast in platinum, but it can also be made in white gold, rose gold, yellow gold, or palladium. Many choose yellow gold for black diamond rings because of the way the rich, warm yellow colour enhances the darkness of the diamond.
